A rare top from Helmut Lang, from an exclusive release from 1999 when Helmut Lang Jeans was reissuing popular designs from past collections--the top was designed to commemorate the event and was most likely only sold from May 17-21, as noted by the date.
The tee is constructed with a unique silhouette with dropped shoulders and a cropped length with a slightly flared bottom. The screenprint is done with thick rubber ink. The difference is very subtle, but the piece is constructed of two separate fabrics: the front panel is a cushioned waffle knit, while the back and sleeve panels are constructed from a basketball-style jersey with a dense drop-stitch pattern, leaving the fabric perforated and very breathable. The cotton has undergone a vintage wash and is now very soft.
